Alessandro Bianchini was born in Trento in 1983. At the age of four he began playing jazz drums thanks to his father, a classical double bass player and jazz player. Two years later he began studying the violin and subsequently enrolled in the classical percussion course at the Bonporti Conservatory in Trento, where he obtained a percussion diploma with top marks in 2012.

He has always loved and played jazz, but it was at the Conservatory that he learned and studied stick percussion, the vibraphone and the marimba, which would later become the basis of his profession as a jazz musician.

He specializes in timpani and orchestral percussion at the Accademia Internazionale della Musica in Milan with the first parts of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.

Subsequently he studied ensemble jazz music with Roberto Bonisolo and Matteo Sabattini, jazz piano with Roberto Cipelli, and in October 2022 he obtained a two-year degree in jazz drums and percussion with specialization in vibraphone, with full marks and honors under the guidance by Maestro Andrea Dulbecco, at the F.A Bonporti Conservatory of Trento.

He has collaborated with numerous orchestras including: Orchestra Mozart (conducted by Maestro Claudio Abbado), Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Orchestra del Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Orchestra del Tirolo (conductor M. Gustav Kuhn), Orchestra Internazionale d'Italia ( tour in China - Beijing, Macao and Dalian), Haydn Orchestra of Trento and Bolzano, Orchestra Verdi of Milan.

He has played in the major music festivals and theaters in Italy and Europe such as: The Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, The Venice Music Biennale, The Festival dei Suoni delle Dolomiti, Festival Musica Riva, Teatro alla Scala, Musikverein Wien, Alte Opera Frankfurt, Beijing Concert Hall.

Among the most important musicians, conductors and composers with whom he has collaborated are Claudio Abbado, Paolo Fresu, Giovanni Sollima, Gilberto Gil, Bob Mintzer, Luis Bacalov, Ed Saindon, Andrea Dulbecco, Fausto Beccalossi, Enzo Zirilli, Giulio Corini, Marco Micheli.

For three years he was the percussionist of the Mozart Orchestra directed by M. Claudio Abbado, holding concerts in Italy and abroad. Since 2019 he has been playing as a vibraphonist and percussionist with the contemporary music composer Marco Uvietta, professor of musicology at the University of Trento, who also composed for him a piece for vibraphone and organ entitled Lennie, inspired by Lennie Tristano.​

For years he has been playing the vibraphone in various jazz formations from duos to quartets, holding concerts in the main jazz clubs and festivals in Italy, including Accademia Internazionale di Musica Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, Taverna Visconti Milano, Jazz Club Zingarò, Non-Sole Festival Jazz, Sounds of the Dolomites, Count Basie Jazz club.

For two years he has been playing regularly in a vibraphone and marimba jazz duo with Andrea Dulbecco. Since 2022 it has also had its own vibraphone trio, with Marco Micheli on double bass and Simone Brilli on drums. With them he recorded the album 10/5 leader in February 2023 at Duna Studio (Ravenna), with original songs composed and arranged by himself and produced by Birdbox Records. In 2022 he also plays as a soloist with the Big Band of the F.A Bonporti Conservatory of Trento, with Bob Mintzer as a special guest.

As co-leader he regularly plays in a quartet with Emilio Galante on flute, Giulio Corini on double bass and Nelide Bandello on drums with two different musical programs. The first is the Sonata Islands Latin Quartet with arrangements and songs typical of the Latin Jazz tradition. The second is Sonata Islands Third Stream and is contemporary in nature, with a third stream repertoire at the crossroads between traditional classical music and avant-garde jazz.

Since 2006 he has taught percussion at the Liceo Classico “A. Rosmini" of Trento and since 2022 he has been teaching "Ensemble music and improvisation with percussion" at the Bruno Maderna Conservatory in Cesena as a contract teacher. He has held several vibraphone masterclasses, including at the G. Verdi Conservatory of Ravenna and at the Department of Letters and Philosophy of the University of Trento, as part of Marco Uvietta's musicology course.
