BBR VINYL CLINIC
The Art of Technical Vinyl Restoration

Excellence in Analog Format Preservation
At Bird Box Records, we understand that a vinyl record is not just music, but a physical object of precision.
Over time, heat and humidity can compromise the disc’s geometry, leading to warping and distortions that prevent optimal tracking.
A warped record causes:
-
Increased noise floor and signal distortion.
-
Premature stylus wear, forced into unnatural vertical movements.
-
Risk of groove damage, irreparably degrading audio quality.
Our Analog Clinic was created to restore your rare and precious records to their original flatness and crystal-clear sonic purity, utilizing the world's finest cleaning and flattening technologies.
Diversified Technology for Impeccable Results
Unlike standard services, BBR Analog Clinic features a diversified range of machinery, allowing us to select the
ideal tool for every type of vinyl (Standard, Audiophile, 180g). Our protocol is divided into three crucial phases:
1. Antistatic Ionizing Treatment: The Invisible Protection
The greatest enemy of vinyl is not just dirt, but static electricity.
A statically charged record acts like a magnet, attracting airborne dust particles and locking them deep into the groove.
Through the piezoelectric technology of the Milty Zerostat 3, we neutralize the molecular charge of the PVC,
making the medium electrically inert and ready for the subsequent phases.
2. Hydro-Mechanical Cleaning Systems
We utilize professional VPI HW-16.5 and Okki Nokki ONE - DV systems to deeply remove layered dust, fingerprints, and organic residues. Every thermal flattening process is preceded and followed by multiple cycles of washing and vacuum drying,
ensuring that no micro-particles of dirt are "pressed" into the groove during the heating phase.
3. Controlled Hysteresis Flattening Systems
The technological heart of our Clinic. Utilizing elite machinery such as the ORB DF-01i A, Furutech DF-2,
and Pro-Ject Flatten IT, we apply thermal cycles with millimetric precision.
The Controlled Hysteresis process allows the vinyl molecules to relax and realign,
restoring the record's perfect flatness without compromising the micro-geometry of the grooves.
DVS Recovery: Signal Optimization
for Serato and Timecode Systems
In DVS (Digital Vinyl Systems) like Serato, tracking precision is everything. The groove doesn't contain music, but a continuous 1kHz sine wave control signal (control tone).
Any physical imperfection on the disc translates into a digital error:
-
Tracking & Latency Errors: Dirt buildup and electrostatic charges cause micro-interruptions
-
in the 1kHz tone, leading to software instability, BPM drift, and a loss of precision in cue points.
-
Phase Issues & Warping: A warped vinyl alters the needle's angle of incidence.
-
This physical "wow" distorts the reading of the pilot frequency, making backspins and scratching difficult.
Through our Restoration and Flattening protocol, we address the mechanical flatness of the record to ensure the needle maintains constant, orthogonal contact with the groove.
By cleaning the disc at a molecular level, we regenerate the integrity of the 1kHz waveform, eliminating digital drop-outs and restoring the original responsiveness to your setup.
Don’t let a warped record ruin your performance.
Controlled Hysteresis Flattening Systems
We feature the definitive triad of the world's finest Disc Flatteners.
How It Works: The Restoration Process
Vinyl is made of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), a material sensitive to thermal memory. Through Controlled Thermal Hysteresis cycles, we heat the record uniformly under constant pressure. This process allows internal tensions to relax, restoring the vinyl to its original flat state without altering the micro-geometry of the grooves or the audio quality.
Please Note: This service supports 12", 10", and 7" (45 RPM) vinyl. It does not support SP records (78 RPM), non-standard heavy discs, or flexible discs (soundsheets).

Technical Specifications by Format
12-Inch (LP)
We utilize full-diameter heating plates to ensure uniform heat distribution across the entire surface—ideal for correcting "dish" warps.
7-Inch (Singles)
Shorter thermal cycles and controlled temperatures to preserve the integrity of the center hole, which is often more fragile.

BBR CLINIC: TESTIMONIALS
The experience of those who chose scientific restoration
Alfredo C.
Grazie!
Franz Joseph G.
My collection of 50 warped vinyl records is now saved. The initial quote was high, but they were very honest in offering a volume discount that I found quite satisfactory. Impeccable restoration—all records were returned with reinforced anti-static sleeves, and the shipping to Austria was handled with well-protected packaging. Very satisfied.

Il mio disco deformato è stato restaurato
alla perfezione.
Il costo in linea con il risultato ottenuto.
Top quality!
